“Weddings are only in summer!”
I hear these words a lot when I talk about my job of wedding planner in French Alps: “Weddings are only in the summer. What are you going to do in winter? You’ll get bored “. That’s a very good question… for you too, are weddings only in the summer?
Why not consider getting married in winter?
Winter weddings are very original. The atmosphere is completely different from summer weddings. Organizing a wedding in French Alps in winter, the constraints are not the same as in summer.
So what are the good reasons to organize a wedding in winter?
As a Wedding Planner in French Alps, I can advise you to get married in winter, for several reasons:
Availability of vendors :
This season being considered low, you will have the choice of service providers, because at this time, they are much less in demand. And those who are available are very motivated because they love winter weddings. Their performance will only be better.
The images will be original:
snowy landscape, ceremony in the snow, arrival by dog sleigh or carriage or ski, wooden chalet, fireplace…. All the details count. You will not have the same photos as everyone else.
Your guests will remember it because it is not common. They will remember your original wedding.
You can get married and celebrate New Year’s Eve on the same day
If the weather is nice: it will be magical. Unlike summer when we inevitably wait for good weather, in winter, the blue sky and the sun are the unexpected guests and add a bit of magic and joy to this day.
You won’t be too hot… or even too cold because there are many solutions for you and your guests to avoid being cold and fully enjoy it.
Here are some ideas for reception venues for a wedding in the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region:
- A Chalet in the middle of the ski slopes or lost in the mountains
- A Ceremony with a view of the very famous Mer de Glace
- In the Sancy Massif, on the edge of a frozen volcanic lake.
- A Hotel in one of the prestigious resorts of Savoie and Haute-Savoie : Megève, Courchevel, Val d’Isère
So weddings aren’t just in summer, they’re also in winter. The Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region offers this possibility.
